In a beautiful fusion of youth leadership and community care, the ZeroPlastic NISD Club recently launched “With Love for Mothers – 2026.” This heart-warming social welfare initiative, organized in close collaboration with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) – Seeduwa, was designed with a singular, noble purpose: to wrap expecting mothers in a blanket of community support, education, and genuine care.
Pregnancy is a journey that requires a village, and this project proved just how powerful that village can be. The initiative successfully bridged the gap between health authorities and dynamic youth volunteers. Together, they hosted vital awareness sessions focusing on essential maternal health, proper prenatal nutrition, and the often-overlooked aspect of emotional well-being.
But the support didn’t stop at education. To remind these women how deeply they are valued, the club distributed carefully curated gift packs and arranged refreshments, creating an atmosphere of celebration and respect. Interactive counseling sessions offered a safe space for reassurance, ensuring no mother felt alone on her path to parenthood.
Beyond the immediate health benefits, “With Love for Mothers” sparked a wave of social responsibility. It gave student volunteers invaluable hands-on experience in leadership, project management, and compassionate teamwork, while inspiring the broader Seeduwa community to actively look after its future generations. By investing in the health and happiness of pregnant mothers, the ZeroPlastic NISD Club didn’t just host an event—they planted the seeds for a healthier, more empathetic tomorrow.
