ZeroPlastic Club of University of Ruhuna Launches Nexora BloomX 2026 With Online Session on Sustainable Entrepreneurship

On 2 July 2026, the ZeroPlastic Club of the University of Ruhuna launched the first phase of Nexora BloomX 2026, an online awareness session focused on sustainable entrepreneurship and eco-friendly alternatives to plastic products. Organized as part of a two-phase initiative, the session brought together participants from multiple countries to explore how green business ideas can contribute to reducing plastic waste.

An International Partnership for Environmental Learning

The programme was organized in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Makerere University Business School, Uganda, and the Development Director of the Rotaract Club of Menengai, Kenya. This cross-border partnership created an opportunity for participants to engage in knowledge sharing on sustainable development and environmental conservation across different cultural contexts. The collaboration reflected a shared recognition that plastic pollution is a global challenge requiring coordinated responses.

Exploring Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Eco-Friendly Alternatives

The session was facilitated by Mr. K.A. Jayasanka Sandun Jayasuriya, Founder and CEO of Environment Key Global, who shared expertise in sustainability, environmental management, and green entrepreneurship.
