Project Splendora, a book donation and community engagement initiative organized by the Event and Fellowship Unit of the ZeroPlastic Movement, University of Kelaniya, brought together university volunteers and school students for a day of learning, creative expression, and educational support. The project combined the donation of books to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with a series of interactive activities designed to support their development and confidence.

Books, Games, and Shared Learning

At the heart of Splendora was a book donation effort aimed at providing educational resources to school students with limited access to learning materials. University volunteers from the ZeroPlastic Movement organized and carried out the donation, directing books to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Beyond the book donation, the project included a programme of interactive activities for the children. Participants took part in games, talent sharing sessions, and motivational programmes conducted by the volunteers. These activities were designed to build confidence and encourage enthusiasm for learning among the young participants, creating a broader experience than a simple resource handover.
