SUSTERA Phase 02, organized by the Sustainable Partnership Avenue of the ZeroPlastic Movement, University of Kelaniya, worked to connect local sustainable entrepreneurs with the Impact Center by ZeroPlastic, creating opportunities for eco-friendly businesses to reach wider audiences and offer practical alternatives to plastic-based products.
Connecting Sustainable Entrepreneurs with a Wider Market
The project introduced sustainable small and medium enterprises to the Impact Center by ZeroPlastic, a space designed to support environmentally responsible business. Entrepreneurs including Bamboo.lk and Happy Craft were connected with the center, where they gained opportunities to showcase and sell products made from materials such as bamboo and wood. The center serves both local and international visitors, providing these businesses with market exposure that extends beyond their usual reach.
By facilitating this connection, SUSTERA Phase 02 addressed a practical challenge that many sustainable entrepreneurs face: finding accessible platforms where their products can reach consumers who are actively looking for eco-friendly alternatives. The project gave these businesses a physical space to present their work alongside other sustainable ventures, strengthening their visibility and potential for income generation.
