ZeroPlastic CINEC Campus Conducts Ignite Leaders Programme for First-Year Students

The ZeroPlastic club of CINEC Campus conducted Ignite Leaders, a programme designed for first-year university students at CINEC Campus. The programme combined environmental awareness with a series of interactive activities aimed at building practical skills among participants.

Ignite Leaders was organized to support the development of leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities among new university volunteers joining the CINEC Campus community. The programme also sought to introduce participants to the environmental mission of the ZeroPlastic Movement through a dedicated awareness component, connecting skill-building with a broader understanding of plastic pollution and waste reduction.

The programme featured a structured series of activities that engaged participants throughout the day. It opened with a ZeroPlastic Awareness Session, which provided participants with an understanding of the ZeroPlastic Movement and its objectives. This was followed by the Newspaper Tower Challenge, a team-based activity that required groups to work together using limited materials to construct towers, testing their ability to plan, communicate, and problem-solve under constraints. The Blind Team Challenge further tested coordination and trust among team members, as participants had to rely on verbal communication and cooperation to complete tasks without visual cues. A Critical Thinking Activity encouraged participants to analyze situations and think through problems methodically, while a Group Discussion and Presentation session gave them the opportunity to articulate ideas, exchange perspectives, and present their conclusions to the wider group.

Through these varied activities, participants engaged directly in hands-on challenges that required collaboration and active participation.
