ZeroPlastic CINEC Campus conducted Eco Talks – Series 0.2, an awareness session and membership drive designed for university volunteers and participants from the Faculty of Marine Engineering at CINEC Campus. The session addressed plastic pollution, its effects on marine ecosystems, and the importance of environmental sustainability.

An Awareness Session for Future Marine Engineers

The programme brought together participants from the Faculty of Marine Engineering for a focused session on the environmental challenges posed by plastic pollution. Volunteers from ZeroPlastic CINEC Campus introduced attendees to the ZeroPlastic Movement, sharing its mission, vision, and the initiatives the campus club has carried out to date.

A central theme of the session was the particular responsibility that marine engineering participants hold in protecting ocean environments. The discussion explored how sustainable practices within the marine engineering field can contribute to reducing plastic pollution in waterways and coastal ecosystems.

Opening a Pathway to Volunteer Action

Beyond raising awareness, the session outlined the opportunities available to those who join ZeroPlastic CINEC Campus as volunteers. Participants learned how involvement in environmental and community initiatives could offer practical experience in leadership, teamwork, communication, and project management. The programme concluded with a membership drive, during which interested participants registered to join the ZeroPlastic CINEC Campus volunteer network.
