The ZeroPlastic Colombo Community successfully reached a significant milestone with the successful execution of its Annual Installation and Award Ceremony, GREENOVATION ’26. Held on 19th March 2026 at the Professor Jayarathna Hall, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, the event brought together more than 60 volunteers, past leaders, and representatives from various university chapters to celebrate achievements, recognize contributions, and usher in a new chapter of leadership.

One of the key highlights of GREENOVATION ’26 was the Awards Ceremony, which recognized the dedication and outstanding contributions of volunteers across various areas, including content creation, graphic design, project coordination, and leadership. Several projects that made a significant impact throughout the year were also honored for their excellence. These recognitions celebrated not only individual achievements but also the collective efforts that strengthened the ZeroPlastic mission.

The event was further enriched by an engaging musical performance, adding a memorable cultural element to the celebration. A particularly significant moment of the ceremony was the official installation of the new executive board, where leadership responsibilities were formally handed over to the newly appointed team. This transition symbolized continuity, growth, and the ongoing commitment of young environmental leaders to advancing the vision of a plastic-free future.
