Green Innings Volunteers Collect 100 kg of Waste During LPL Final Initiative
The ZeroPlastic Movement carried out the Green Innings project as part of its LPL Final initiative, engaging more than 40 volunteers in a large-scale waste collection effort. The activity was organized to address the waste generated in connection with the LPL Final, with a particular focus on reducing plastic pollution.
The project was designed to promote responsible waste management and environmental cleanliness during a high-profile event. By mobilizing volunteers to collect and sort waste at the venue, the initiative aimed to demonstrate practical environmental action and reduce the volume of litter left behind after the event.
During the project, volunteers worked together to gather waste from the area associated with the LPL Final. The collection effort resulted in approximately 100 kilograms of total waste being removed, of which around 50 kilograms consisted of plastic waste. Volunteers sorted and managed the collected materials as part of the cleanup operation, ensuring that recyclable and non-recyclable waste was handled appropriately.
More than 40 volunteers took part in the initiative, contributing their time and effort to the cleanup. The level of participation reflected a strong willingness among the volunteer team to engage directly in hands-on environmental work. By working across the event area, volunteers were able to cover significant ground and make a visible difference to the cleanliness of the surroundings.
The collection of 50 kilograms of plastic waste during a single event-linked activity highlights the scale of plastic consumption and disposal that can occur in such settings.
