EcoRise Awareness Session Introduces RUSL ZeroPlastic Club to New Volunteers

The ZeroPlastic Club of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL) conducted an awareness session titled “EcoRise: Zero Plastic Club Awareness Session,” aimed at introducing the ZeroPlastic Movement and the university’s ZeroPlastic club to a new audience of potential volunteers.

The session was organized to raise awareness about the ZeroPlastic Movement’s objectives and the work carried out by the RUSL ZeroPlastic Club. It also sought to communicate the importance of volunteering and to encourage participants to become active members of the club.

During the session, organizers provided a detailed overview of the ZeroPlastic Movement and the role of the RUSL ZeroPlastic Club within it. The team presented previous projects undertaken by the club, offering participants a clear picture of the club’s activities and its contributions to plastic reduction efforts. Volunteers from the organizing committee also spoke about the value of volunteering and the opportunities available through the club.

Participants who attended the session gained an understanding of the club’s purpose and past work. E-certificates were provided to both participants and members of the organizing committee in recognition of their involvement in the event.

The session served as a useful channel for the RUSL ZeroPlastic Club to reach new university volunteers and to build wider awareness of its environmental work on campus. By showcasing completed projects, the club was able to demonstrate its track record and present a clear case for why joining the movement matters at a practical level.

The “EcoRise: Zero Plastic Club Awareness Session” reflects the ongoing efforts of the RUSL ZeroPlastic Club to grow its volunteer base and strengthen awareness of plastic pollution issues within the university community. The session contributed to the broader mission of the ZeroPlastic Movement by bringing new attention to its work at the university level.
