Tree Diaries 2025

Tree Diaries marked a heartfelt milestone for ZeroPlastic Club of Kingswood College, becoming the very first project led by the newly formed school club. More than an event, it symbolized the beginning of a long-term journey—one where students step forward as young guardians of the environment, committed to shaping a greener and more responsible future.

Organized in close partnership with ZeroPlastic University of Peradeniya, the initiative brought together an inspiring mix of energy and experience. From the University, 15 volunteers and 7 Executive Board members joined the effort, working side by side with over 75 Kingswood students and more than 30 Scouts. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, unity, and the unmistakable spirit of teamwork, proving how powerful environmental action can be when different groups come together with a shared purpose.

One of the most memorable moments of Tree Diaries was the gifting of bamboo saplings from the ZeroPlastic University of Peradeniya team to the Kingswood College club. This gesture carried deep meaning. It wasn’t just a donation of plants—it was a passing of responsibility, trust, and hope. Each sapling symbolized growth, leadership, and the shared mission to protect our natural world. With this exchange, Kingswood students were officially welcomed into the broader ZeroPlastic family, strengthening the bond between school and university chapters.

As Kingswood College completed its first-ever ZeroPlastic project, Tree Diaries laid a strong foundation for the many initiatives to come. The enthusiasm, discipline, and leadership shown by the Kingswood students reflected a promising beginning—one that aligns perfectly with the ZeroPlastic Movement’s mission to inspire youth-driven environmental action across Sri Lanka.

With the success of this inaugural project, the Kingswood ZeroPlastic club steps confidently into its new role, ready to nurture change, spark awareness, and grow its impact.
