The ZeroPlastic Movement conducted Growing With You Phase 02: Growing Green Little Minds at Little Scholars Preschool in Malabe as an environmental education and community outreach initiative. The programme was designed to introduce preschool children to the basics of environmental protection, zero-plastic living, and responsible waste management.

The project was organized with the aim of reaching young children at an early stage and encouraging them to develop good habits around waste disposal and environmental care. By focusing on preschool-aged children, the programme sought to build awareness of responsible waste management practices from a young age.

During the session, an interactive programme was carried out in which the children were taught how to properly dispose of and separate waste. The activities were designed to be engaging and age-appropriate, helping the children understand the importance of sorting waste and handling it responsibly. A collection of plants was also donated to the preschool, giving both the children and staff an opportunity to care for greenery within their learning environment.

The programme combined environmental education with hands-on activities, allowing the children to participate directly rather than simply receive information. By learning through interaction, the young participants were introduced to practical steps they could take in their daily routines to look after their surroundings.

Reaching children at the preschool level represents a meaningful approach to environmental outreach. Introducing concepts such as waste separation, responsible disposal, and caring for plants at this stage helps establish habits and awareness that can carry forward as children grow. The donation of plants to the preschool also provided a lasting resource that can continue to serve as a learning tool for the children and staff beyond the duration of the programme.
