Eco Treads Connects With Schools and Raises Funds at B TEX Exhibition

A group of young volunteers stood behind a modest stall lined with handmade bookmarks, jars of mango pickle, and cups of fresh drinks. Around them, the B-TEX Exhibition buzzed with visitors, but their eyes were fixed on the school students and teachers walking through the crowd. Every conversation was a chance to plant a seed about something bigger than what was on the table.

The project, called Eco-Treads, was organized by the ZeroPlastic Movement with a dual purpose: to introduce the ZeroPlastic Society to a wider audience and to build meaningful connections with schools that could lead to long-term collaboration in the fight against plastic pollution. The B-TEX Exhibition provided the perfect setting, drawing educators and students from multiple institutions under one roof.

Conversations That Could Shape Classrooms

While the fundraising stall attracted plenty of foot traffic, the real work happened in quieter moments. Volunteers approached school teachers individually, explaining the mission of the ZeroPlastic Society and gathering information about their institutions. These were not scripted pitches. They were genuine exchanges about what environmental conservation looks like in practice and how schools might integrate it into their culture. The team explored future collaboration opportunities, laying groundwork for initiatives that could eventually bring sustainability education directly into classrooms.

For many of the teachers, it was their first encounter with the ZeroPlastic Movement.
