Pure Path ‘26 – Bringing the University Together for a Cleaner, Greener Future

In today’s world, environmental responsibility is no longer an option, it is a necessity. Improper waste disposal, plastic pollution, and lack of ecological awareness continue to threaten our surroundings. Recognizing this urgent need, the Environmental Sustainability Avenue of the ZeroPlastic NDT Club, University of Moratuwa, proudly organized “Pure Path ‘26” , a university-wide cleanup program dedicated to fostering a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus.

Held on 28th May 2026 across the university premises, Pure Path ‘26 brought together over 550 participants including students, academic and non-academic staff, and the wider university community in a shared mission. Through hands-on campus cleaning, efficient waste management, and recycling activities, participants tackled litter hotspots and learned proper disposal techniques. The program also aimed to increase volunteer engagement within the club, inspiring more students to take active roles in sustainability efforts.

The project was led by Pramod Rajapaksha (Project Head) and Janitha Kavinda (Deputy Project Head), with Buddika Pushpakumara (Graphic Designer) creating impactful visuals. A dedicated team of project coordinators and volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring every activity from waste segregation to awareness drives ran smoothly. Their teamwork, energy, and commitment were the driving forces behind the program’s success.

By reducing campus waste, instilling responsible disposal habits, and strengthening collective environmental consciousness, Pure Path ‘26 created a lasting impact. The ZeroPlastic NDT Club continues to inspire individuals to adopt eco-friendly habits, driving long-term positive change for a healthier educational environment for everyone.

Small actions, when multiplied by many, transform the world. Pure Path ‘26 proved that together, we can pave the way for a sustainable future.
