Dreamed Brush 2.0 – Where Creativity Meets Greener Visions: Empowering Youth for Environmental Action

On June 12th, 2025, the ZeroPlastic Vavuniya Community will host Dreamed Brush 2.0 – Where Creativity Meets Greener Visions, an inspiring art competition at Al-Aksha Maha Vidyalaya, Vavuniya, at 1:00 PM. Building on the success of Dreamed Brush 1.0, which was completed with great enthusiasm and impact, this second edition continues to provide a dynamic platform for students to express their environmental awareness through art.

Dreamed Brush 1.0, the inaugural chapter of this creative journey, set the stage for fostering environmental consciousness among youth. It successfully engaged students from across the community, sparking deep reflections on urgent ecological issues such as climate change, pollution, deforestation, and conservation. The success of Dreamed Brush 1.0 provided the perfect foundation for Dreamed Brush 2.0, which takes the vision to new heights.

Aligned with pressing global issues, Dreamed Brush 2.0 invites participants to use their creative talents to translate environmental challenges into visual stories. Through their artwork, students are raising awareness about the need for sustainable action and environmental protection.

Under the leadership of Project Head Nitharshana and Sub Project Head A. Niromy, supported by President J.A.M.P. Jayasinha and the dedicated team, the competition aims to inspire creativity while instilling a sense of responsibility. Designers Arwinth and Dilakshan created visually compelling promotional material, while content writers M. Domiya and Thilaksana conveyed the importance of environmental advocacy.

The event’s photography team, Sangothayan and Jathusan, will capture the highlights of the day, while Rengel Sosai and S. Jiniththa’s documentation ensures the event’s legacy. Event coordinators Sharujan, Mathuumitha, Saranya, and S. Theepa are working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly.

A special thank-you goes to a relative of a ZeroPlastic Vavuniya member for their generous donation of pencils and erasers, which helped provide the necessary tools for all participants.

Dreamed Brush 2.0 is not just an art competition, it is a celebration of youth-driven change. By combining creativity with environmental advocacy, this initiative empowers the next generation to be proactive in building a cleaner, greener future.
