Ashirwadha Pooja 2026 Organized to Begin the New Term with Blessings

The ZeroPlastic Movement of the University of Kelaniya organized Ashirwadha Pooja 2026 to mark the beginning of the new 26/27 term. The religious ceremony aimed to seek blessings for the upcoming year and strengthen unity among the leadership team of the movement.

The event took place at Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, one of the most respected Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. The ceremony created an opportunity for members to gather together and begin their responsibilities with a clear and positive mindset.

The program included Buddhist religious rituals and Pirith chanting conducted by monks of the temple. Members offered flowers, oil lamps, and incense as part of the ceremony. The event also included a short address that highlighted the vision and responsibilities for the new term. The program concluded with a group photo session.

The project was organized by a dedicated team of members of the ZeroPlastic Movement. Kushani Imalsha served as the Project Head, while Chamod Rshmitha worked as the Event Coordinator. Bhagya Karunarathna managed financial coordination, Isuri Bhagya handled public relations activities, and Sanjana Senarathna contributed as the Editor. Their coordination ensured the smooth planning and successful completion of the ceremony.

The event brought together Executive Board Members and other avenue members of the movement. Through this gathering, members were able to strengthen teamwork and build stronger relationships within the organization.

Ashirwadha Pooja 2026 played an important role in preparing the leadership team for the projects planned for the new term. By starting the year with religious blessings and unity, the ZeroPlastic Movement aims to continue its commitment to environmental awareness and responsible practices within the university community.
