In a world increasingly defined by environmental challenges, EcoClips was created with a simple but powerful purpose: to spotlight entrepreneurs who are reshaping Sri Lanka’s future through sustainable, plastic-free innovations. The project brought together a passionate organizing committee dedicated to identifying eco-driven businesses and helping them gain the visibility they deserve, entirely free of charge.
The initiative began with the collection and curation of video submissions from small businesses committed to using plastic alternatives, either in their core materials or packaging. Once gathered, the EcoClips team transformed these stories into engaging, polished videos, which were shared across social media platforms. This approach allowed each entrepreneur to reach a broader audience, connect with potential customers, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s growing movement toward sustainable entrepreneurship.
Among the businesses featured were Athukorala Group (PVT) Ltd, which creatively transforms tea waste into stylish and durable eco-friendly bags; Maheroo Banana Fiber Products, offering biodegradable alternatives crafted from natural banana fiber; Asini Dias – Inspired Creations, combining art and eco-conscious materials to produce sustainable designs; and Siha Lanka Coco, producing coconut-based products that replace single-use plastics while supporting sustainable coconut industries.
Through EcoClips, these entrepreneurs were not only given recognition but also became sources of inspiration for a wider audience. By highlighting these innovative practices, the project encouraged people to make sustainable choices, support environmentally responsible businesses, and invest in eco-friendly alternatives.
EcoClips demonstrates the power of storytelling in environmental action. By amplifying these small but impactful initiatives, the project inspires a broader shift toward sustainable living.
