ZeroPlastic University of Ruhuna Launches Third Session of ‘තිරසාර දැක්ම’ Project

The third session of the “ තිරසාර දැක්ම – 2025” project was successfully held as a virtual Zoom event on August 6, 2024, under the theme “ Living Sustainably in Sri Lanka”. This insightful session brought together participants from diverse backgrounds who share a common interest in promoting sustainable practices within the Sri Lankan context. The event featured Mr. L. V. P. Pieris, Owner of Agra (Private) Limited, as the distinguished guest speaker. With years of experience in sustainable agriculture and eco-conscious business practices, Mr. Pieris offered a deep and practical perspective on how Sri Lankans can adopt simple yet impactful changes in their daily lives and business operations to foster a more sustainable future.

During his presentation, Mr. Pieris emphasized the importance of embracing localized solutions rooted in Sri Lanka’s cultural and environmental context. He shared real-world experiences and business strategies that balance environmental responsibility with economic viability. The session also highlighted the need for collective responsibility and the role of individuals, entrepreneurs, and policymakers in achieving long-term sustainability goals.

Organized under the broader ZeroPlastic University of Ruhuna, this webinar marked a meaningful step forward in raising awareness, sharing knowledge, and inspiring action. The interactive nature of the session encouraged participants to engage in open dialogue and reflect on their own contributions toward a greener Sri Lanka. As the third installment in the ongoing series, it reaffirmed the commitment of the තිරසාර දැක්ම initiative to empower communities and drive sustainable transformation across the island.
