Trending Now: ZeroPlastic School Clubs Are Taking Off!

We’re thrilled to announce the expansion of our ZeroPlastic School Clubs network with the newest addition—Viharamahadevi Girls’ College, Kandy. As young voices rise in environmental advocacy, these school clubs are becoming hubs of creativity, action, and leadership in the fight against plastic pollution.

In an inspiring partnership, The Open University of Sri Lanka will act as the Parent Club, mentoring and guiding Viharamahadevi’s ZeroPlastic team. This university–school collaboration model ensures that students receive the knowledge, support, and resources needed to execute impactful projects, learn leadership, and build lifelong environmental values.

But that’s not all — we’re already gearing up for the next installation at Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy. The momentum is growing, and we’re just getting started.

At the heart of this initiative is a simple but powerful belief:

Let’s change the kids — they will change the country.

The ZeroPlastic Movement is more than a campaign. It’s a platform for youth and citizens alike to step up and take meaningful action. Through school clubs, we’re giving students the space and structure to lead change in their communities, supported by a network of university mentors and national impact strategies.

Join the Movement If your school is ready to be part of this exciting wave and is interested in forming a ZeroPlastic Club mentored by a university, we’d love to hear from you.
