In today’s world, where environmental responsibility is no longer optional, businesses must take bold steps to reduce their ecological footprint. The ZeroPlastic Commitment Certification (ZPCS) is your opportunity to prove that your organization is serious about sustainability—by actively reducing single-use plastics (SUPs) and aligning with global environmental standards.
What Is the ZeroPlastic Commitment Certification?
Developed by industry experts from around the world and verified by Control Union—one of the world’s leading auditing and verification bodies—ZPCS helps organizations assess, reduce, and manage plastic usage through a clear, actionable, and credible framework.
Our standards are aligned with internationally recognized certification frameworks and the vision of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative (GTPI)—a global collaboration led by UNEP and UNWTO, supporting tourism businesses in eliminating plastic pollution.
Why It Matters
The ZeroPlastic Commitment Certification is more than just a badge. It reflects your organization’s alignment with key UN Sustainable Development Goals:
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
SDG 14: Life Below Water
SDG 13: Climate Action
SDG 15: Life on Land
By committing to ZPCS, you stand out in your industry, demonstrate leadership, and future-proof your business in line with evolving global regulations—like the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive and the UN Global Plastic Treaty.

How It Works: 5 Steps to Certification
Our process is simple, structured, and tailored to your unique operations:
Step 01 – Become Aware
An initial assessment gathers data on plastic usage across departments, helping you understand where changes are needed.
Step 02 – Define Strategy
An on-site inspection dives deeper, identifying avoidable plastics and areas for immediate action. We also conduct staff interviews to understand everyday plastic practices.
Step 03 – Develop a Plan
You’ll receive a personalized Inspection Report and an actionable roadmap to reduce avoidable SUPs. Our ZeroPlastic Approved Consultants will help you manage unavoidable plastics and create tailored employee education sessions, policies, and pledges.
Step 04 – Take Action
Over 1–6 months, your organization implements the plan. Consultants remain on-call, guiding you toward full compliance and preparing you for the audit by Control Union.
Step 05 – Shout Your Achievement
Once certified, you’ll receive:
A ZeroPlastic Commitment Level Certificate (1, 2, or 3)
The right to use our trademark on your materials
A clickable website badge to showcase your verified sustainability
Access to promotional support and visibility in our global network
