EcoBites is a community-based project implemented by the G17 Ambassador Team in collaboration with the ZeroPlastic NISD Community under the National Institute of Social Development. Led by students and young social workers, the initiative supports the broader efforts of the ZeroPlastic National Movement through awareness programs and action-based interventions aimed at reducing plastic dependency in everyday life.
This initiative focuses on the close relationship between plastic usage, food consumption habits, environmental sustainability, and human health. By addressing these interconnected issues, the project promotes the reduction of plastic and polythene in food-related activities while encouraging the adoption of natural, healthy, and environmentally friendly food alternatives.
Through awareness sessions and practical engagement activities, EcoBites encourages individuals to rethink their food choices and the materials used in food preparation, packaging, and consumption. The initiative emphasizes that sustainable food habits not only benefit the environment but also contribute to improved personal health and community well-being.
EcoBites successfully increased public awareness about the impact of plastic on both environmental and human health. The initiative also promoted healthier dietary choices, reduced reliance on plastic-packaged food products, and strengthened youth participation in environmental protection efforts.
