A Green Step For SIBA By ZeroPlastic Community of SIBA Campus

The students of SIBA Campus came together for a meaningful environmental initiative titled “A Green Step for SIBA.” The project was organized alongside a special lecture conducted by Dinesh Muthugala, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and responsible environmental action.

The main highlight of the event was the planting of a sandalwood tree, symbolizing a commitment to environmental protection and a greener future. Sandalwood trees are known not only for their ecological value but also for their cultural and environmental significance, making the planting a powerful gesture toward long-term sustainability.

The ‘A Green Step for SIBA’ project demonstrated how small actions, such as planting a single tree, can contribute to a larger environmental movement. The initiative also emphasized the importance of making meaningful contributions to nature, encouraging individuals to invest in sustainable actions rather than contributing to environmental harm through wasteful practices such as excessive plastic use.

More than just a planting activity, the event became a moment of shared purpose and collaboration, creating lasting memories for the participants while strengthening their commitment to environmental stewardship.
