ECU Walk Cleanup 2026

The ECU ZeroPlastic Club successfully organized a cleanup initiative alongside the ECU Walk, demonstrating a strong commitment to reducing plastic pollution and promoting environmental responsibility. The activity took place along the route from ECU Rajagiriya to Independence Arcade Square, transforming a regular walk into a purposeful environmental action.

As participants engaged in the walk, members of the club actively collected plastic waste and other litter from the surrounding environment. This hands-on effort not only contributed to a cleaner route but also served as a visible reminder of the impact of improper waste disposal on public spaces and ecosystems.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about plastic pollution while encouraging individuals to take responsibility for their surroundings. By integrating cleanup activities into a community event, the project highlighted how simple actions can make a meaningful difference when carried out collectively.

All collected waste was carefully sorted and disposed of, ensuring proper waste management practices were followed. This step reinforced the importance of not just collecting waste, but also handling it responsibly to minimize environmental harm.

Through this initiative, the ECU ZeroPlastic Club successfully combined community engagement, environmental awareness, and practical action, contributing to a cleaner environment while inspiring participants to adopt more sustainable habits in their daily lives.
