The Grow Green 1.0 project, organized by the Zero Plastic Vavuniya Community, stands as a meaningful example of youth-led environmental action. Held on March 21st in Vavuniya, the initiative was conducted in line with the globally recognized International Day of Forests, bringing together volunteers, students, and community members to promote sustainability and environmental protection.

The central focus of the project was tree planting, a simple yet highly impactful activity that contributes to ecological balance. Trees play a vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide, improving air quality, and supporting biodiversity. By planting saplings, participants made a direct contribution to enhancing the environment while also gaining valuable awareness about the importance of forest conservation.
