ZeroPlastic Community of the Open University of Sri Lanka brought students together for a day of entertainment, learning, and community support with the Green Screen Movie Marathon 2.0 on 16th January 2026. Held at the Faculty of Health Sciences Auditorium from 10:00 AM onwards, the event combined the excitement of cinema with the spirit of giving, creating a memorable experience for all participants.
The movie marathon featured a lineup to keep audiences engaged throughout the day:
10:00 AM: Midnight
1:00 PM: Love Today
4:30 PM: The Grudge
Each screening was well-attended, with students gathering not only to enjoy the films but also to support the ZeroPlastic Community’s ongoing initiatives. With 105 enthusiastic students participating, the event successfully raised funds that will directly contribute to community projects and sustainability-driven programs organized by the Open University ZeroPlastic team.
More than just a movie marathon, the event served as a platform to bring the student community together, fostering collaboration, engagement, and shared purpose.
